Making a Difference

As we enter our fortieth year, we have chosen charities close to our hearts for us to support throughout our anniversary celebrations and beyond.

Together, we hope to make a difference in the lives of those who need it the most.

North Devon Hospice

One of the largest of its kind, North Devon Hospice and its services cover over 800 square miles, offering essential care and support for patients and their families affected by life-limiting conditions. Founded in 1984, what started as a single community nurse covering the entire region has become an invaluable service for all of North Devon, offering support and in-patient and at-home care for around 3,000 people every year.

Children’s Hospice South West

Originating in Barnstaple, North Devon, the Children’s Hospice South West was the first of its kind to open its doors in the South West of England in 1995. Founded by Eddie and Jill Farwell, their personal experiences awakened their ambitions to provide essential support and care to children and their families near their own homes. Since opening Little Bridge House in September 1995, two more children’s hospices have opened, broadening the charity’s reach to include Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Bath, and South Gloucestershire.

Families in Grief

FiG is a local charity in North Devon that supports children and young people dealing with grief. They work directly with families, groups, and schools by offering bereavement support, helping everyone involved in making the lives of the next generation feel less alone.
